2026 Trash Contract Update & New Rates

Penn Township is one of fifteen municipalities entered into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement to provide Garbage, Solid Waste, and Recycling Collection. The current solid waste contract with Apple Valley Waste Services is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2026. The new five-year contract will begin on July 1, 2026. Due to the contract expiring the Board of Supervisors has approved continuing with the new contract to remain with Apple Valley Waste Service. The Township has adopted an addendum for this new contract, with updated rates starting on July 1st as follows:

*  Full Service Trash Collection – $69.25 per Quarter (under 65 years of age)

*  Senior Citizen Trash Collection – $63.25 per Quarter (65 years and older; must contact Twp to update)

*  Recycling Only – $47.75 Per Qtr

*  Individual Trash Bags – $7.00 per Blue Bag

Unfortunately, bulk trash service will no longer be available on this new contract. However, there are a variety of other resources within the area:
